This is a Cantonese cultural preservation project. When people discuss the Chinese language, they often think of Mandarin. However, many may not realize that Cantonese is one of the most widely spoken languages within the Chinese linguistic umbrella. Cantonese is a sophisticated language with a rich history and numerous unique expressions. This project aims to preserve and promote Cantonese culture to a broader audience.
Each pin design features Cantonese romanization to make pronunciation accessible, along with an illustration to help people remember each word’s meaning. Additionally, each pin includes an English translation to further support understanding.
